If you’ve been reading my blogs for a while you’ll realise that I see the journey to abundance as a spiritual, inner journey as much as it is an outer, worldly journey.
Actually, I see it as an inner journey first and the outer journey of experiencing more abundance in life is just a natural consequence, an emanation or expression of the inner shift towards BEING more abundant.
This was one of the core messages of The Abundance Code film — that true abundance starts with an inner shift. And HOW to do some of that inner work is presented in my book (also called The Abundance Code, available here).
What’s not so obvious from the film or the book is how important it is that you make a strong commitment to YOURSELF on this journey. What I mean by that, is that it’s vitally important that you truly CHOOSE yourself.
Until you make that choice, on a deep level, nothing else can happen.
No matter what it is that you need to work on inside of yourself, you must first choose to give yourself the gift of FOCUS before the shift can happen. Make the time, create the space and do the work you need to do to change your old patterns and behaviours to allow more abundance to flow in. Making that commitment is a demonstration that you are willing to choose yourself, to make yourself and YOUR unique journey a priority.
Recognise that like everything in life, it is a JOURNEY. The richness is in the path itself, and we can often miss that when we fixate too much on a destination. The truth is, there’s no destination… just a constant evolution of the ways in which we express ourselves in our lives. A deepening of the fullness of that expression. A deepening of abundance.
There is no ‘good’ or ‘bad’ on this journey (though there may be highs and lows). Everything is an opportunity for learning and further evolution. So stop beating yourself up, okay?
Whatever it is that you want to enjoy in your life of abundance, give yourself PERMISSION to have that. Really want it for yourself, for no other reason than because you LOVE yourself.
Last week I made a choice for myself: I went to an amazing retreat called The Path of Love
The Path of Love is an incredible 8 day process for truly learning how to choose yourself, to embody your unique life force essence and bring it forward in a powerful and authentic way so that YOU light up your whole life.
I’m still integrating the experiences I had during that retreat, to be honest. Already I feel way more enlivened, inspired and clear on what I truly want to create in my LIFE OF ABUNDANCE moving forward.
It was a gift that I gave to myself, and I highly recommend it to anyone who’s interested. (I have no affiliation with The Path of Love, by the way, I’m just telling you about it because it’s awesome).
I was totally blown away by The Path of Love process. I’ve done a LOT of spiritual and personal development work in the past and this was like nothing I’ve ever done before. It was profound. It was challenging. It was fantastic!
To give you a taste of some of the insights I gained during that retreat, I’d like to share with you a poem I started while I was at The Path of Love.
I Am Chosen
I am chosen…
To be free
To be loved
To be myself
I am chosen…
To be happy
To be innocent
To be that child running through the meadow with gay abandon
I am chosen…
To be captivating
To dress my Spirit in garments of splendor and dance dances of Grace
I am chosen…
To break the bread and drink the wine
To throw my head back in laughter as I toast the world
I am chosen…
To empty my cup into the crucible of sorrow, and
To breathe in the fumes of knowing
I am chosen…
To write a poem with my life’s blood that
Both breaks the heart and
Makes it whole again
I am chosen…
Because I choose myself.
